Biography and career.
Ravshan Tozhiddinov was born in 1977 in Rishtan, in the Fergana Region, which has long been famous for pottery. Ravshan inherited the skills and knowledge of his ancestors, allowing him to preserve and continue the family tradition while adding distinctive features of his own.
Koronda Pottery Centre.
Around thirty years ago, Ravshan founded the Koronda pottery centre in Rishtan. It became an important place for preserving and developing Uzbekistan’s traditional ceramic art. Koronda not only helps train young craftspeople but also actively creates jobs in the region. Production and export.
More than 70 people work at the Koronda centre, while around 300 additional artisans can complete orders from home. The centre exports its products to over ten countries, including Türkiye, Kazakhstan, China, Russia and Greece. Tozhiddinov’s pottery is sought after abroad for its uniqueness, high quality standards and traditional Uzbek style, which attracts international collectors and art lovers.
Types of ornaments.
Ravshan Tozhiddinov’s enterprise produces tableware with three main types of traditional Uzbek ornament: dotted decoration, Mehrob and Korakalam. Each pattern has its own history and symbolism, giving the pieces special value and individuality. The pottery centre has a museum that attracts tourists from around the world every year.
